3.25\” vs 4.0\” — How to Choose

The 3.25\” is the standard race specification — proven at the travel levels the GIANT leaf spring kits produce and appropriate for the vast majority of builds. The 4.0\” version carries more oil volume, which means more heat capacity and more consistent performance over long racing stages where shock temperature becomes a factor. If you are building an endurance application (Baja 1000-style, 4+ hour continuous racing), the 4.0\” is worth the additional cost. For most desert racing and off-road use, the 3.25\” is the right call.
